ATTENTION!!!
Do Not Pay To Have Your Resume Blasted All Over Creation!!! EVER!

  • Did you send your mom’s friend’s cousin’s wife’s best friend your resume a couple of weeks back and then considered your weekly job search completed?
  • Have you been surfing the job boards for resume distribution for the last couple of months to no avail since you've been laid off, or afraid you will be?
  • Have you recently paid hundred bucks or a little less to a resume blasting service, only to find your email inbox full of junk mails sent by con artists with get rich schemes?

Let’s face it; "In today's competitive job market, finding
a job, is in itself a full-time job…

…And who would blame a desperate jobseeker succumbing to offers claiming to send your resume and cover letter to 3000+ recruiters in up to 6 of “your disciplines” for a mere $89?

So the question arises, how on earth will you find a job using more innovative 21st century tools without spamming? Here’s how…

RESUME POSTING (Highly Recommended)

# 1:
Create presence on SELECTED job boards like, Monster, CareerBuilder and Dice and then only applying to jobs of your field that best suit your experience and not to forget are in your local area.

# 2:
Get noticed by building relationships with the people in a company, strong your network, meet friends and friends of friends, family, attend conferences, join networking events etc. Show that world that you are there.

# 3:
Market yourself by posting your resume online on various professional networks like LinkedIn, cofoundr, eacademy.com to build sturdy online presence.

# 4:
Keep yourself updated with online job classifieds, applying and posting from time to time will cost nothing but a small amount of your time.

# 5:
Post your resume to the target specific companies with no man in between as they can offer you your dream job. Visit various company websites to let them know you want to work with them.

RESUME BLASTING (Not Recommended)

HERE’s what you shouldn’t do..

# 1:
Blasting your resume to hundreds, even thousands of potential employers without any thought of  particular industries or fields will give you nothing in the end.

# 2:
Chances are there that your Employee finds you on search engine or job site resume Databases. Eventually, you will lose your job

# 3:
Zero chances of getting a noticeable response through resume blasting. Chances are high that a tired recruiter receiving bulk resumes every once in a while throws them in junk folder.

# 4:
Marketing yourself through resume blasting can come with a huge cost since you never know where your resume is being blasted; hence, there is a high probability of identity theft.

# 5:
Resume blasting not only cost you money .How would a person like you who is living from hand to mouth and is searching for job desperately spends $100 on just resume distribution?

# 6:
The list of email addresses are usually not qualified, they are rather illegitimate and for those that are legitimate, the applicant’s email IDs are viewed as SPAM or deleted.

In one line..

It is better to do resume posting yourself than to have it done from untrustworthy resume distribution services

Even cold calling on a telephone is far more effective than sending out thousands of identical cover letters and resumes. You need to develop relationships to be the most successful in a job hunt and you can’t do that through mass mailings, electronic or otherwise. The USPS would love it more people blasted out their resumes at 44 cents a pop but the reality is that there are more effective methods.
My advice, having never used these services before, is to avoid them. $100 for a few thousand resumes sent may seem cheap, especially if it results in securing a job, but there are better alternatives and all of them are guaranteed not to piss off the recruiter. Finally, remember that these folks are overwhelmed as it is, “blasting” a whole bunch of them probably isn’t going to help.

I find the good old fashion way of searching for employment works the best, but off course with better tools
I recommend searching the sites for available positions and then go directly to them with your resume in hand.

As you are reading these lines you may have got through another soul-sucking, mind-numbing, gut-wrenching jobless day.
